Autism takes a lot from you and your child. My poor Noah is struggling with his sensory sytem daily so that means a fight getting him dressed, brushing his teeth, and even eating. So what keeps you going when you have zero energy and your getting kicked and yelled at?? Well my answer would be knowing things have to get better. No one tells you how hard this journey is until you actuallly go through it. If you are a special needs parent then you understand how emotionally draining it is. If your not then you might think i'm completely exaggerating and might assume I just have a spoiled brat on my hands who needs to get spanked but I can assure you that is not the case. When we put on pants or a shirt it doesn't bother us, when I put pants on Noah it may feel like sand paper to him. When Noah stomps and kicks that may be the only way he feels his feet. Being a single parent means all the responsibilities fall on me and getting a break may seem impossible. When its all said and done there is absolutely nothing I wouldn't do to make sure Noah's future is bright. I'm tired and stressed but I say to all of you parents keep up the awesome work you do daily!! You are the most hardworking appreciative people I know :) |
Noah is ambitious, loving, and autistic. Noah got diagnosed right after his 2nd birthday. Currently he is recieving early childhood intervention with speech therapy, occupational therapy, as well as ABA. Autism has really humbled me and made me aware of a world I didn't know existed until Noah got diagnosed. I will spread autism awareness how ever I possibly can and be an advocate for my Noah. After all,we are our child's voice. Noah leaves footprints on our hearts!

U r an amazing mother who God has blessed Noah with. The struggles will always be there and for someone who sees the positive side of autism makes u an even more AMAZING person.

ReplyDeleteI remember seeing Noah for this first time and thinking what a beautiful child he was (and still is!) He is going to grow up so strong because of everything you are doing for him and how you are handling it. I could not imagine what you go through everyday, but I do know you are a wonderful mom and person and I will be praying for the both of you!
ReplyDeleteThank you to all of you!! It means a lot!
